What's on 104th

The Market and much more

If you don’t live or work downtown you may be surprised by the array of eclectic stores, shops and restaurants that line 104th Street. While the west side of 104th is being transformed into funky lofts and large-scale apartments, the east side of the street is home to some of downtown’s best destination shopping.

You can explore some of Edmonton’s most original clothing and home furnishing stores, shop for alluring bridal wear, fine wines, or elegant stationery, and sit down for a delectable dining experience. And with the addition of Sobey’s Urban Fresh market on the corner of Jasper Avenue and 104th, you’ll also find all the ingredients you need to transform your City Market purchases into gourmet meals at home.

Take a stroll

In addition to the variety of shops and restaurants, make sure to check out the architecture of the many buildings that line 104th Street. There are currently nine “A” level heritage buildings on the 104th Street promenade, including the prestigious Birks Building on the east corner of 104th Street and Jasper Avenue (built 1929) and the Phillips Building (10169-104 Street), which was built in 1912 as one of the first completely fireproof buildings in Edmonton. Guided tours of the 104th Street heritage buildings are available on select days during the year.
